Organic Pears & Kiwifruit
At Delis Family, we cultivate selected varieties of pears and kiwifruit using organic farming methods, taking advantage of the ideal soil and climate conditions of our land.
From early-season Coscia pears and refreshing Krystallia pears to juicy Hayward kiwifruit, each fruit is carefully harvested at the right stage of ripeness. Thanks to our modern cold-storage facilities, we preserve their freshness, aroma and nutritional value until they reach the market.
Our Varieties
Hayward Kiwifruit
Fruit size: Medium
Colour: Brown, slightly fuzzy skin with green, juicy flesh
Characteristics: Intense aroma, distinctive sweet-and-tart flavour and high nutritional value
Harvest period: Late October
Coscia Pears
Fruit size: Small to medium
Colour: Light greenish-yellow with a slight red blush on the sun-exposed side
Χαρακτηριστικά: An early pear variety with white, juicy flesh and a sweet, mildly aromatic flavour
Harvest period: Late July
Krystallia Pears
Fruit size: Large
Colour: Yellowish-green
Characteristics: A mid-season variety with white, juicy flesh, a refreshing flavour and pleasant texture
Harvest period: Mid August
Aiming to produce excellent quality products, Chrisi Milia has documented and applies a Food Safety Management System in accordance with EN ISO 22000:2005, and includes all functions related to product quality and trust relationships with customers.
ISO 22000:2005 is applied not only in the processing unit but across all phases of production, starting from growth and all the way to harvesting, pretreatment of raw materials, distribution, storage, sales and consumption.
We make sure that thorough checks are being conducted every step of the way and all quality and safety standards are being met as stipulated in the respective European and national legislation for consumer products.
Particular emphasis is placed on the storage of fresh products, which are kept in specially designed refrigerated facilities. Temperature and humidity are systematically monitored using dedicated recording equipment, ensuring the quality and freshness of the products until they are made available.
